Get cooking with the East Moline Library! Leading you will be Chef Elly, world traveler, Executive Chef at NEST Cafe, and lover of flavors. Together, we'll explore spices, seasonings, different cuisines, and cultures.
Every month, discover a new seasoning blend and spices from around the world. LAGOM Gourmet Seasonings, Chef Elly's seasoning line, will provide samples for tasting and for you to take home to cook with. Come back the following month to discuss the spice and recipes you tried and how you used the seasoning. You'll travel the world without leaving the Quad Cities.
April's spice is Togarashi:
Spice up your grilled fish, poultry, and beef with Togarashi Seasoning. A spicy Japanese seasoning blend has an intense flavor profile and incredible depth, it will blow you away! For a unique snack, sprinkle it onto avocado toast or freshly popped popcorn.
We will discuss:
- A sample of a featured blend.
- Background about the spice and seasoning origins.
- Recipes from the East Moline cookbook library.
